(Who inspired rock legend Bob Dylan? )

ROCK icons have joined forces to appear on an HMV charity calendar, raising much-needed funds for young cancer sufferers.

Stars including Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and Deborah Harry appear on HMV’s glossy My Inspiration calendar.

On sale now, it does what it says on the tin, with each of these influential artists revealing their biggest musical inspiration. All proceeds go to HMV’s nominated charity Clic Sargent so click on the link below to buy your copy.

Bob Dylan pays tribute to Scottish poet Robert Burns while Dylan himself has in turn inspired Paul McCartney and Bono.

Bruce Springsteen’s biggest influence was Woody Guthrie while Paul Weller owes a debt to John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

Almost 200 stars revealed their key influences to HMV and you can read the full list here.

It was whittled down to just 18 who are pictured in the calendar including Elvis Presley, Bono from U2, The Killers, Siouxsie Sioux, Tom Waits and Keith Richards.

They were shot by celebrated photographers including Anton Corbijn and Dean Chalkley.

The CLIC Sargent charity cares for children and young people battling cancer and HMV are hoping to raise £20,000 through sales of the £7.99 calendar at the same time as solving countless Christmas gift-buying dilemmas.

Buy a copy of the My Inspiration calendar, doing your bit for the Clic Sargent charity at the same time.
